The last 6 phones i purchased have all been made by HTC that is until just a month ago when i got myself a Galaxy Tab to play with, but the point is i have always regarded HTC to be the best of smartphone software and hardware and nothing else ever even came near to the benchmark of the HTC brand. Then my most recent purchase was due and i found myself looking at shop fulls of HTC phones just like the ones i already owned – some Windows Phone 7 devices that look much like HTC desires, and a whole load of 4.3 inc screened devices running Android or Windows that just look like HD2′s ! So where has the design innovation gone ?
Above is the latest pre-release HTC flagship device and while the hardware specs seem on paper to offer the very best state of the art smartphone experience i cant say im too excited by the look of the thing, its just too much like the last 10 handsets they have offered us, it does offer a certain level of brand recognition i suppose but you just cant argue that iPhone 4 has an on the shelf appearance that kills this in one glance. So come on HTC we love the hardware we love the OS choces but we really need to see some creative deasign work on the outer shell of your devices.
